TRNSMT

SCOTLAND’S LARGEST MUSIC FESTIVAL

Client:

DF Concerts

TRNSMT is Scotland’s largest music festival, created as a city centre festival concept following the closure of T in the Park.

Launched in 2017 and hosted at Glasgow Green in Glasgow, the festival delivers a three day live music experience across four stages, attracting audiences of approximately 50,000 attendees per day. The event features internationally recognised headline artists alongside emerging acts and large scale live production within one of Scotland’s busiest urban event environments.

As a major city centre festival, TRNSMT combines large scale audience infrastructure, live entertainment production and operational logistics within a public park setting closely integrated with the surrounding city environment. The festival requires close coordination with transport networks, local authorities, emergency services and nearby residents to support safe audience movement and efficient event operations throughout the build, live event and break phases.

Alongside its live music programme, TRNSMT places a strong emphasis on sustainability, operational efficiency and long term integration within the city environment. The festival was awarded Best New Festival at the UK Festival Awards in its inaugural year and also received the accolade of Major Festival of the Year at the 2023 Live Awards, further establishing its position as one of the UK’s leading large scale outdoor music festivals.

our role

Special Projects led site management and infrastructure coordination for TRNSMT on behalf of DF Concerts & Events from early feasibility and planning phases through to live event operations and reinstatement.

Our role included developing festival layouts, coordinating infrastructure installation and managing procurement, contractor scheduling and operational delivery across the wider site footprint at Glasgow Green. Working within one of Scotland’s busiest urban public park environments, we supported the integration of audience infrastructure, production facilities, operational compounds, access routes and public event spaces across all phases of delivery.

Special Projects coordinated suppliers, infrastructure scheduling and logistics operations throughout the build, live event and break phases, helping maintain safe public movement, operational efficiency and environmental controls within the city centre environment. This included supporting traffic management integration, authority liaison, site protection measures and reinstatement planning throughout the project lifecycle.

We also acted as the operational coordination link between DF Concerts & Events, Glasgow City Council, contractors, suppliers and wider stakeholders, supporting compliance, environmental management and efficient operational delivery across the festival site. Throughout delivery, our role focused on balancing the operational requirements of a 50,000 capacity city centre music festival with the long term protection and functionality of Glasgow Green.
