The Reeling Festival

Glasgow's Summer celebration of Traditional Music

Client:

Michael Pellegrotti

The Reeling is a two-day Scottish music festival celebrating the contemporary traditional music scene through a programme of live music, cultural performances and community focused activity.

Held within Rouken Glen Park on the south side of Glasgow, the family friendly outdoor festival brings together established artists, emerging performers and audiences from across Scotland within a compact parkland environment. The event features two live music stages, a dedicated children’s area, food and drink traders and a range of audience facilities designed to create an accessible and welcoming festival experience.

Focused on contemporary Scottish traditional music, folk music and live cultural performance, The Reeling has become an established part of Scotland’s outdoor summer festival calendar. The event combines live entertainment with a relaxed community atmosphere, delivering a large scale music festival experience within a public park setting while maintaining strong links to Scottish culture, traditional music and local audiences.

our role

Years worked: 2024-2025

Special Projects delivered site management, infrastructure coordination and operational planning for The Reeling across both the planning and live event phases of the festival.

Our role included developing detailed CAD layouts, site surveys and infrastructure plans to support the efficient delivery of a multi-day outdoor music festival within the constraints of Rouken Glen Park. We supported infrastructure scheduling, procurement and operational planning across the site, helping balance audience experience, operational functionality and effective use of the available footprint.

Special Projects coordinated suppliers, installation scheduling and on site logistics throughout the build, live event and break phases, while maintaining clear communication between contractors, festival organisers, local authorities and operational stakeholders. Our role also included supporting traffic management planning, audience movement, vehicle access coordination and site protection measures required for delivery within a live public park environment.

Working within the operational constraints of the site, we supported the delivery of practical and efficient infrastructure solutions designed to improve operational flow, maintain safe movement routes and protect the surrounding park grounds throughout the event lifecycle.
