Summer Sessions is a city centre concert series delivered across consecutive evenings, with each event headlined by internationally recognised music artists and touring productions.
Originally launched in Glasgow, the success of the series led to expansion into Edinburgh and Dundee, establishing Summer Sessions as a major part of Scotland’s outdoor live events calendar. The series has hosted a wide range of international artists across multiple music genres, attracting large public audiences to prominent urban locations throughout the summer season.
Delivered within city parks and public event spaces, Summer Sessions combines large scale live music production with the operational requirements of temporary event infrastructure in busy urban environments. Each site requires close coordination with local authorities, transport providers, emergency services, residents and venue stakeholders to manage audience movement, logistics, access routes and city operations throughout the event lifecycle.
The series contributes significantly to the cultural activity and visitor economy of each host city, bringing large scale live entertainment into accessible public spaces whilst integrating closely with surrounding transport networks, local businesses and existing city infrastructure.

Special Projects supported site planning, infrastructure coordination and operational delivery for Summer Sessions across multiple locations and editions over a ten year period, working on behalf of DF Concerts & Events as the event promoter and project owner.
Our role included developing detailed site layouts, infrastructure plans and operational drawings to support the delivery of large scale concerts within complex city centre park environments across Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee. We coordinated suppliers, managed infrastructure scheduling and oversaw installation and dismantle activities throughout build, live event and break phases across all locations.
Working within active urban environments, Special Projects coordinated closely with local authorities, venue stakeholders, emergency services and operational teams to support audience movement, transport integration, artist access and back of house operations whilst maintaining safe and efficient event delivery within restricted city centre footprints.
Our role also included supporting long term infrastructure planning and operational improvements across the concert series, helping refine layouts, logistics strategies and ground protection approaches in response to changing production requirements, environmental conditions and venue constraints across multiple sites and event editions.
